Xiaomi Black Shark teaser points towards a curvy design and 18:9 display

April 6, 2018 By discountbonus_sd3n3h

The long rumoured Black Shark phone by Xiaomi is finally close to its official release. In the meantime, we covered a series of leaks about the gaming-centric phone. Most recently, a new teaser has popped up on Wiebo, which drops subtle hints about the phone’s design.

Although, there is not much to guess, but now it’s evident that the phone will have rounded corners on all sides. Also, we can see a green slider around the right edge of the phone.

To recall, Black Shark is Xiaomi’s sub-brand which is debuting with its first creation in form of a gaming-centric smartphone. The launch of the phone is scheduled for April 13, in China.

The Black Shark gaming phone will compete against the Razer Phone that came out last year.

There isn’t much known about the phone yet, but it’s confirmed that the phone will run on Snapdragon 845, as teased by the makers.

What do the rumours say?

As per a leaked AnTuTu listing, the Black Shark will sport a Snapdragon 845 with 8GB of RAM. Although we are not sure about the display size and refresh rate, it likely to have a 18:9 aspect ratio at 2160×1080 pixels. Looking at the curved corners of the phone, it's likely that the phone will have 18:9 aspect ratio.

In addition to that, we expect it to have 120Hz refresh rate similar to the Razer Phone.

GizmoChina had reported that the Black Shark phone will be available variants having 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage. It will support Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charge.

Moreover, the leak also confirms Android Oreo on the phone, meaning we could see Project Treble support alongside the solid hardware.
